An excellent book, and when I first picked it up, there were only 3, now there are seven! The story of a reluctant hero, a girl who has a quest thrust upon her when disaster strikes not long after she runs away from school after a duel gone wrong. This book has a different take on magic, something quiet and fairly ordinary, than you might be used to. Even at her lowest, Karigan isn't whiny or annoying, even if she does insist a lot that she's not a Green Rider. Completed. 5/5
Second in the series, this book is a fair bit darker than the first, but still contains a fair amount of the same thrilling storytelling as the first. The grimmer, darker turn makes it not a good read if you're already anxious, easily frightened, or it's late. Despite that, it's still very enjoyable. Complete. 4/5
